Atlanta Printmakers Studio was a new construction project that aimed to establish an art hub in the city center of Hapeville. The project involved selective demolition of an existing 100-year-old building that was heavily damaged by a fire. We were required to reinforced the existing building structurally and built a new addition to the building. The site was a brownfield, which involved significant remediation and testing. Paryani Construction installed underground specialty barriers to prevent further contamination.
The project also included a significant historic preservation component. We salvaged century-old fixtures and refabricated them into landscaping, seating, and custom art. The finishes and landscaping were all one-off custom pieces utilizing old remains to refabricate and install into the new building, ensuring the preservation of its history. The project also included custom fabrication of steel joist systems done in-house by Paryani Construction as a way to resolve supply chain issues during the pandemic. The project was successfully completed, and it now serves as a vibrant art hub for the Hapeville community.
